Former presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) said there is no “sane human being” who doesn’t believe his campaign for president in 2016 wasn’t taking on the Democratic National Committee.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper questioned Sanders on former interim DNC chair Donna Brazile’s report that there was an agreement between the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign, which made the primaries rigged in Clinton’s favor.
Sanders started by praising Brazile on her “courage” by coming forward and describing with the “truth, as she saw it when she came into the leadership at the DNC.”
The senator did not say whether he thought the primaries were rigged or not, but he did indicate his campaign directly “took on” the DNC, among other “establishment” political organizations.
“I don’t think there’s any sane human being who doesn’t believe that my campaign was taking on the entire establishment, including the DNC,” Sanders told the “Anderson Cooper 360” host.
However, Sanders said everyone’s job now was to “go forward” and do “everything we can to defeat this right-wing agenda of the Republican Party and the Trump administration.”
