Former President Barack Obama accepted eleven gifts that totaled about $30,000 during the last year of his administration.
The New York Post reported this on Tuesday, saying they got the information from newly released disclosure forms.
However, according to the International Business Times, Obama’s 2010 disclosure forms disclaim that he did not accept gifts in prior years of his administration.
Co-host of ABC’s The View, Whoopi Goldberg, gave Obama a gift that was so expensive it made it into the top three of the eleven.
Goldberg gave Obama a photo of boxer Muhammad Ali that totals $5,250.
The most expensive gift was a $8,300 five-volume set of Obama’s family genealogy that was given to him by the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Coming in at second most expensive present received during his last year in office was a $7,000 “large wooden map case with vintage maps inside,” gifted to him by National Geographic.
The least expensive gift reported was a “framed ballot from the election of 1964 in favor of President Abraham Lincoln,” Obama’s favorite president. This is worth $465.
