McConnell Floats Write-In Alternative to Judge Roy Moore And It’s Exactly Who You Think

House Majority Leader Mitch McConnel not only wants to get rid of Judge Roy Moore, he has his own nomination to replace him. When asked, Mitch McConnell put forth the name of Attorney General Jeff Session. The AG is the former Senator from Alabam whose seat is vacant. McConnell sees it as a perfect fit.

There has been no reaction from Jeff Sessions office. It is not expected to be accepted as a viable course of action for Mr. Sessions. There is also no word on how President Donald Trump might react to such a suggestion. Would the President see it as an opportunity to get a better hold on the Robert Mueller investigation?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday publicly floated the idea of getting Attorney General Jeff Sessions to take his old Senate seat, as Republicans continue to seek alternatives to Judge Roy Moore.

McConnell made the comments to the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council while talking about who could mount a successful write-in campaign, like Sen. Lisa Murkowski did in Alaska in 2010.
